Marvel's The Avengers Wave 4 Insights

Well "Super Articulated" Iron Man isnt Super Enough.

The announced pre order of the Avengers toyline Got me all hyped up. I passed on the movie figures 

(wave1-3) because of the following reasons:

• Lack of articulation
• Gimmicky accessories
• Price Increase ( from P500 to P550)

I decided to sell my previous Movie series stuff too, In favor of getting more Marvel Universe figures up my display cabinet (yup i sold my King Loki from the Thor line)

Having this "super articulated" Iron man gave me hope of getting decent figs which may be worth the price.

I think im wrong...

i have now an idea of how the wave 4 figures fare against the figures from the previous waves

Lets start with The Worst.

Shitauri  Chitauri

No Knee Joint

no torso joint (as expected)

ankle joint

Verdict: Get this on clearance. Or Wait for the ones with the chariot deluxe pack probably and get that on clearance.

Nick Fury

Features the Winter Soldier body

May have torso articulation

New Trenchcoat

New Headsculpt

Verdict: Ok figure, It isnt too bad. Nick isnt as agile and flexible as say Black widow so this might work.

no need to hunt for the IM2 boxset which uses a Gi Joe body and a soft goods coat. This ones coat is made of Soft rubbery plastic which I prefer most of the time.

And Lastly....

IronMan MarkVII armor

Not "Super Articulated " enough

false promises

Double Jointed Knees

ankle articulation

still no torso articulation

still no wrist cuts

disappointing

Arc in the chest is painted blue

Verdict:

What can I say. they  basically took the legs of an iron man 2 figure

put it in a mk7 torso

and branded it "super articulated"

yes he is much more articulated than the other figures in the line besides black widow

but not enough to be super articulated.

So the first Mk7 didnt make any sense. Now they issue doubles of a character with better features,and they tell us they are cost cutting. 

anyway thats it for now. ill probably get all of the Avengers on clearance. They might release super articulated versions of everyone. I just need memorabilia  from the film. Thats it.
